New to Bikram Yoga?
If you've never attended a Bikram Yoga class before, you should most definitely get out and go to one. Bikram Yoga is a good beginning yoga class and almost anyone can do it! A basic things you may want to know about your first class is that you will sweat! Wear comfortable exercise clothes, and remember it will be hot. Don't worry about you're flexibility level at your first class, because it is all about progression! Plan on staying for the entire 90 minute session, no cutting short. Try to go to classes as often as you can but shooting for about 10 times a month is great!

Bikram Yoga Benefits
Bikram Yoga increases the heart rate, warms up the muscles, and increases blood circulation causes a perfect combination of calorie burning and weight loss and muscle building. Bikram yoga is widely popular for its long withstanding theraputic benefits and euphoric effect. The heat maintains the yogic conditions based in humid India which purify and detox the body, this is what contributes to the "refreshed" feeling which often accompanies a Bikram yoga class.
Choosing Your Yoga Mat
Yoga mats come in a variety of types, styles and thicknesses. A typical yoga mat has a sticky surface to help with friction when obtaining your poses. Some yoga mats are thicker than others, and these can really help when you get on your knees, everyone has their own taste in yoga mats and you should try some out and decide which one one you like the best. When you do Bikram Yoga you should also bring a towel or two along because you will be sweating a lot!
